When the ABS light is on, the Anti-Lock Braking System of your car is not working. You still have safe brakes, but the ABS will not come on if needed.
When you drop off your car to have the ABS checked out, give the service adviser any and all symptoms the vehicle has.
Depending on the year of the vehicle the technician will connect a scan tool to your vehicle*s computer to retrieve the code that was set when the ABS sensed something was wrong.
There are a number of repairs that might need to be made: replace a sensor, repair a bad connection, replace a pump, etc. Your technician will let you know what is wrong and how to repair it after they do some diagnostic work.

You may be in need of a brake replacement (1) if the ABS light is one (at times) (2) if the vibration is when stopping then it may indicate that you need to resurface/shave your brake rotors. Your ABS light may be set on by a few different causes, you can have this read by a diagnostic scan tool to determine the origin.
The first thing they should do is connect a scan tool to the vehicle and see if there are any fault codes. If there are the next step would be to run the fault code chart to diagnose the problem. The vibration issue should be a separate issue. The best thing to do is to take the vehicle to a trusted shop to have it diagnosed.

Hello Mark most ABS lights are caused by a bad sensor- but there can be several other causes- vibration can be caused from MANY factors- ranging from an engine misfire to a unbalanced part- to warped disc brake rotors- hope this helps - thanks Super Girls Auto.

Mark Van Epps,
These issues may or may not be related. If the vibration occurs when the brakes are applied, I would say more than likely, they are related. It is most likely going to take, at the very least, a road test and visual inspection to help narrow down the cause of the light and vibration.
