I have a 1995 Pontiac Grand AM SE with 200,000 kms. I need to repair air conditioning, brake system and ignition, all for $ 2000. Is it worth it in your opinion to spend this money on this car? The car is in immaculate shape no rust at all. Will the car be safe to commute to work everyday 50 kms or do you think that it's still a death trap once it is fixed because it is so old?
Spending $2000 on repairs for a good car never scares me. But you need to know if the vehicle is worthy to keep or if it is time to let it go.
Impossible to say if your car is worth keeping from an e-mail description. You say it is in immaculate shape and all the repairs are wear items.
I recommend you find a qualified automotive technician whom you can trust and who communicates well to do a thorough inspection on the vehicle. Ask them if this vehicle is worth investing $2000 dollars in or not.
