I need to find a new(er) car. I live in Northeast Ohio, with lots of winter weather. I travel 55 miles round trip each day and need something that travels well in (very) inclement weather. My husband wants a truck. Truth is, if it works I do not care, but I would prefer a closed in vehicle (car, station wagon, crossover SUV). My husband insists it should have 4-wheel drive to get through the snow. I agree. Any suggestions?
I would suggest a Subaru. All Subaru's are 4-wheel drive. Then you can choose between a sedan, small station wagon, larger station wagon or a SUV.
They are great in the snow and get decent gas mileage for a 4-wheel drive vehicle.

I have a Acura MDX which is a crossover with 4 wheel drive. I drive about the same amount as you do and really for a small SUV, gas mileage isn*t too back. This has been my favorite vehicle so far. It has plenty of room (3rd row seating), navigation, sunroof....too many extras to name. Good luck to you!
