have a 2000 hyundai tiburon. check engine light is on and has been on since i purchased the car. it seems to be running fine. i am interesrted in how i go about turning this reminder off or disabling it. do not want to investigate the reason for it*s being on further, just want to disable it. can you help?
You cannot turn the check engine light off. The check engine light comes on when one or more sensors in your engine are not working properly. You may not have a problem with your vehicle at this time, but you probably will if you just ignore it.
You need to take it to a certified shop or dealership to get it diagnosed. They will need to connect a scan tool to the vehicle to read the code so that they can find the problem. I would strongly recommend that you do not ignore this light.
